Catch Up

Reagan's First Birthday

Pinewood Derby

This was Weston's first Pinewood Derby. A lot of hard work went into preparing the car. However, because we put it off until a week before the big event, Dad ended up doing a little more work than he intended. Dad cut out the car with a coping saw. Because Dad does not have good coping saw skills the car came out very uneven. After quite a bit of filing Weston began sanding his car down. He went through four different grates of sandpaper to get it ready for painting. Weston picked out his design and drew it out on paper.

Though Weston's final car came out looking pretty darn cool, that's about all the good that can be said about it. It came in convincingly last in every heat but one (in which it came in third). Much credit has to be given to Weston. He never once let his poor outcomes get him remotely down. He kept his chin up the whole time and had a great attitude. We are very proud of him. The orange car above pretty much killed everyone. Apparently this family "owns" all pinewood derby events they enter. The father was asked how they got their car up to the regulation maximum of 5 oz. He replied, "we hollow it out, melt lead, and poor it in." A little more dedication than I think we're up to. They enter regional races and apparently have come home with mtn. bikes. Not to be mean, but it would be good if they moved out of the ward by next year.

Volleyball

Fun on the Trampoline

Weston thought it would be funny to jump on the trampoline while picking his nose.

Please observe what happens when one picks their nose while jumping on a trampoline. If you click on this picture and enlarge it you can see the results.

Ok, looks like you guys have been having a lot of fun. I have to invest in a new camera so I can have great shots of my kids playing their sports. Wow, great photos... Happy Birthday to the little one and you all look great.

Happy Birthday! Can you believe it has been a year already? Love the trampoline pictures (Isaac regularly gives himself bloody noses without the help of a tramp), your kids really know how to have fun. The best part of the volleyball pictures would have to be the 'star socks!' How awesome are those!?!? I'm really feeling the need to go and get me some...

I think Weston might be a lot like you when we were little! He looks a lot like you. Your family is so cute.
